OPERATIONS MANAGER OPENING IN TOTOWA NEW JERSEY. MUST HAVE A FOOD OR BEVERAGE BACKGROUND AND A BACHELORS DEGREE IN ENGINEERING. STRONG LEAN, CI EXPEREINCE AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT EXPEREINCE. 
 $120K PLUS 5-10% BONUS 

The Operations Manager – (Production, Process and Equipment) will demonstrate leadership in communicating and driving business goals, production, and processes. They will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals. This role is responsible for leading the operational team and driving forward tactical & strategic manufacturing objectives determined by the leadership team.

  • Coach, mentor, and set goals for direct reports and their teams
  • Develop supervisor staff ensure they have Work and Development Plans that lead to continual improvements with safety, quality, and efficiency on there shifts
  • Lead the development, education, and training of new and improved manufacturing methods and creation of process standards, hands on
  • Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
  • Drive and sustain process improvement in manufacturing operation
  • Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
  • Identify and reduce product nonconformance’s caused by process variation
  • Utilize continuous improvement principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability; reduce overall cost and increase capacity
  • Resolve manufacturing process problems through execution of proper root cause analysis
  •  Develop, implement, and train to best practices to drive consistency and development of standardization of work
  • Ownership of manufacturing budget and deliver results around cost, efficiency, quality, etc. and drive for continuously improving results
  • Work as change agent, understanding and supporting leading operation toward world-class performance
  • Ensure complete compliance to quality standards, GMPs, product qualification standards, etc.
  • Develop safety culture among the employees and work towards the improvement of facilities safety.
  • Monitors production schedules and adjusts staffing to meet these schedules.
  • Perform time studies to improve efficiency
  • Oversee day to day production operations, ensuring production schedule is followed, operators/maintenance works with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment, interact with a cross functional team to execute business goals; maintenance, engineering quality, human resource, inventory, purchasing, etc.
  • Responsible for the hiring, development, retention and performance reviews
  • Well organized, high energy, data driven, and results oriented.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Experience managing to KPI metrics
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in the managing a production manufacturing team; preferably food, beverage, chemical, bakery, cosmetics or pharmaceutical
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Ability to make data driven decision
  • Demonstrated root cause analyses skills
  • Familiarity with Lean tools (5s, SMED, Kaizen) preferred  Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Microsoft suite; strong ability to utilize Excel as a tool for tracking and analysis
  • Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college highly preferred

 

  • ERP experience required; experience with SAP highly preferred
  • Strategic planning and experience in leading quarterly objectives
  • Project Management skills
  • Lean/6 Sigma Certification
