Scope of Responsibilities

Product Development 
Use extensive understanding of our production processes to give recommendations to Project Management, Marketing, Production, Finance, Procurement and R&D regarding efficient product designs. 
Be the main contact for feasibility and labor costs for new products, with strong linkage to the Project Management team. 
Challenge cross-functional teams to execute production trials for new products and/or process changes, while minimizing impact on cost and performance.
Plant Performance Tracking and Definition

?Drive Continuous Improvement of our plant data collection and reporting systems to increase data accuracy or reduce processing losses in generating the data. 
Gather requirements for data collection and reporting regarding plant efficiency, material and labor usage and waste from stakeholders, and develop systems to provide required information. 
Continuous Improvement 

Understand and support the corporate strategy, and work with all functions across the organization to implement TPM, or Total Productive Maintenance.
Continuously assess, and where necessary improve, Continuous Improvement activities and tools.
Participate in TPM pillar activities, including, but not limited to, sponsoring teams.
Provide guidance to TPM pillars and teams to maintain momentum in our journey to TPM implementation. 
Communicate the status and results of TPM implementation to all levels of the organization. 
Be on the lookout for process improvements across all processes within the organization and encourage/coach stakeholders to execute Continuous Improvement activities to improve these processes. 
People Development
?Develop valuable and effective on TPM methodologies that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), including, but not limited to 5S, PCS, Kaizen and Problem Solving, and provide training on these topics as needed.
?Coach and mentor others in the successful execution of Continuous Improvement methodologies. 

Lead, coach and mentor the Industrial Performance team in the execution of their everyday activities.
Support the Industrial Performance team in executing their part of the Corporate strategy.

Our Company/Job Summary
The Industrial Performance Department is responsible for tracking and reporting plant performance, participating in production trials, providing recommendations and costing for new products, driving implementation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and developing and delivering necessary training to all levels of the organization.

The Industrial Performance Manager is responsible for coaching and leading the Industrial Performance team in all their activities. The Industrial Performance Manager shall have a strong focus on improving knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies, both in the plant and in the office. This position requires spending a significant amount of time on the production floor, and involves working cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Safety and other functions, to provide support as needed to keep our plant running efficiently and safely. 

Specific Knowledge & Skills
Strong leadership capabilities 
Proven track record of implementation of, and participation in, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
In-depth understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools, including, but not limited to:
Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis
Process Mapping; SIPOC Mapping; 
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) 
Time Studies 
Poka Yoke (Error proofing) 
Knowledge of Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality and Safety functions 
Effectively communicate ideas, concepts and procedures to all levels within the organization, from the factory floor to senior management. 
Set priorities for self and team. 
Identify training needs and define programs to ensure teams have the necessary skill sets to see projects through. 
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. 
Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook); knowledge and sound understanding of database systems.
