Packaging Machinery – Soil Packaging Plant
Mechanical more so than electrical
Responsible for lubrication of all packaging, screening and grinding equipment when required. Responsible for advanced levels of mechanical, electrical and fabrication repairs on packaging and processing equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with Lockout/Tagout policies and procedures along with Safety/PPE rules and regulations.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Completes weekly schedule of lubrication on all chains, bearings and all parts sliding, rotating or rolling to include every moving part of all processing and packaging equipment when required.
Changes date coding equipment daily or as often as needed.
Inspects and services all drop point spray tips when required.
Blowdowns all electrical motors on a monthly basis or as often as required.
Changes facility light bulbs/tubes when required.
Ability to perform advanced level electrical component replacement like variable frequency drives and ac motors. Also programming and uploading/downloading of preset VFD parameters.
Ability to adjust, remove and replace conveyor belts, pulleys, chains and bearings.
Ability to operate oxy/acetelyne torches for advanced cutting and heating operations.
Ability to operate plasma cutting equipment.
Ability to perform advanced welding functions with arc and MIG wire feed welders.
Under direction from Facility and Maintenance Manager, assist in component and machinery design and reconstruction.
Ability to troubleshoot any and all electrical,mechanical and structural breakdowns during a production shift safely and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
Ability to maintain and change out consumable parts in grinding/processing equipment, including proper hardfacing and component build-up while using and knowing appropriate welding/hardfacing materials.
Ability to perform advanced AC/DC electrical troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of design/prep and painting of fabricated equipment.
Ability to install EMT and ridged electrical conduit.
Ability to start and run all mechanical and automated packaging and processing machinery.
This position has not Supervisory responsibility.
