Detailer Job Description
Summary This is an entry-level detailer position in the Machine Shop that requires minimal supervision for most tasks.
Job Responsibilities • Detail machined parts as instructed per shop order, print, and/or verbal instructions. • Work with various types of hand tools or air operated tools such as orbital sanders, die grinders, deburr knife, burr whip. • Report non-conformities to the Supervisor. • Read and comprehend written instructions. • Deburr, file, and sand using Scotch Brite, wire brushes, and polishing agents. • Set up hand tools. • Install Helicoil inserts, Keenserts, and dowel pins. • General housekeeping. Minimum Requirements ? High school diploma or equivalent. ? Minimum six months of detailer experience in a machine shop. ? Able to comprehend written and/or verbal instructions. ? Work well with others and maintain a professional attitude toward co-workers and customers. ? Excellent attendance. ? Must be U.S. citizen or permanent green card holder. • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screens, and random drug screens when selected. Physical Requirements ? Able to lift 30 lbs. safely. ? Able to work with acetone and isopropyl alcohol. ? Able to work with aluminum, stainless steel and copper materials. ? Must be able to pass respirator medical evaluation and fit test and wear respirator for long periods while performing job duties.
