Job Description: Maintenance Electrician

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong electrical experience in addition to working with mechanical and hydraulic systems, Basic blue print reading, PID control loops, DC power supplies, level probes, temperature probes, photo electronics, DC/AC motors, frequency drive controllers, motors starters, solid state relays, PLC based machine control systems. Good communication skills and excellent trouble shooting skills. Experience of 2-4 preferably in a fast paced production (bottling) environment helpful. Installs, maintains and repairs electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing etc. and associated control devices when and where required.

Major objectives: 
– Adhere to safety, environmental and company regulations.
– Maintain a good attendance, safety and discipline record.
– Support a positive working environment that’s free of harassment, discrimination or other unlawful practices. Immediately report such practices to human resources.
– Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
– Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
– Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
– Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
– Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
– Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
– Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
– Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
– Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
– Inspect drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters or perform other maintenance actions by following checklists.
-Works on all voltages, MCC units, power distribution equipment etc
-Create electrical schematic when required. Program and configure PLC, touch screen
– Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
– Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, using blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
-replace damaged or broken wires and cables. Also, diagnose faulty mechanical, hydraulic,- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
– Specify, cost, and order materials needed to maintain plant facilities, machines and equipment.
– Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
– Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
– Proven proficiency working with Basic Tool Room Equipment, Hydraulic systems, Programmable Logic Controllers and Ladder Logic.
 

Physical Demands of the Position:

  • Standing, walking, kneeling and bending approximately 85% of day
  • Computer and administrative work approximately 15% of day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 — 75 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to do basic math: add, subtract, multiply & divide.
  • Must possess effective communication skills — verbal & written
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Desired Qualification :

  • AA degree in Electro Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or some other type of technical area directly related to the general maintenance field.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary
