Maintenance Planner – Indianapolis, IN
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to improve workforce productivity and equipment reliability within our manufacturing/packaging facility. The Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance work, coordinating parts, equipment, and labor, and ensuring timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and schedule maintenance activities, ensuring timely execution and minimal downtime

Maintain accurate records and reports to allow analysis of completed work

Optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs and autonomous maintenance tasks

Coordinate labor, machine time, and parts to eliminate potential delays

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings for maintenance planning

Support maintenance workforce effectiveness and reliability best practices

Perform work in a safe manner, following all safety rules and procedures

May be required to work weekends or outside normal hours as needed
Qualifications / Skills:
-
Strong planning and scheduling skills
-
Adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours, materials, and visualize job execution

Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
-
Strong analytical, administrative, and mathematical skills
-
Proficiency in CMMS software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other manufacturing software

Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
-
Knowledge of maintenance work orders, priorities, and scheduling
-
Commitment to safety and customer service
Education & Experience:
-
Degree, diploma, or technical school background in mechanical or electrical fields
-
Minimum 10 years’ technical experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
-
Prior experience in maintenance planning or maintenance supervisory role
-
SMRP membership is a plus
Physical Demands:

Work at heights or using ladders and lifts
