COMPANY IN THE NORTHERN NJ/ NY AREA IS LOOKING FOR A SR. BOILER TECHNICIAN. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS OPEN TO TRAVEL THIS IS A 100% TRAVEL ROLE. 80% OF THE TIME IN NORTHERN NJ AND 20% TIME IN NY. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN BOILERS, COMBUSTION CONTROL SYSTEMS, SCHEMATICS, ELECTRICAL, ETC. MUST HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD AND BACKGROUND AS WELL. 

COMPANY CAR, CELL PHONE AND LAPTOP ARE OFFERED FOR THE JOB.

SALARY RANGE: $100K-$150K 

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot boiler, burner, and fuel oil control issues reported by customers.

  • Diagnose problems and identify correct replacement parts; coordinate with the sales team to generate repair and follow-up quotes.

  • Install, commission, start up, and service equipment sold by our company, as well as customer-owned equipment assumed under our company service responsibility, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Configure, program, and commission control systems as directed by engineering.

  • Provide home-office engineers with updated configurations, programs, marked-up drawings, and documentation.

  • Promote our company's parts and service offerings during customer interactions.

  • Travel to customer job sites throughout Northern New Jersey and occasionally New York City.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related boiler and combustion controls experience.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Working knowledge of:

  • Steam and hot water boilers

  • Gas, oil, and combination burners

  • Boiler and combustion control systems

  • Electrical circuits

  • Combustion fundamentals and associated piping systems


Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA certification.

  • Experience with combustion control strategies ranging from linkageless systems to fully metered systems.

  • Experience calibrating transmitters.

  • Knowledge of piping and welding practices.

  • TWIC certification.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to work safely and effectively in industrial environments including boiler rooms, cogeneration plants, and process facilities.

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks required for field service work.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $100,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience.
