MANUFACTURING PLANT IN ANAHEIM CA IS LOOKING FOR A DIRECTOR OF MANUFACTURING FOR THEIR FACILITY. SMALLER OPERATION BUT FAST-PACED. LOOKING FOR A STRONG LEADER, SOMEONE SHARP WITH LEAN MANUFACTURING, IMPROVING THE TEAM AND PROCESSES IN A PLANT.

SALARY RANGE: $100K-$120K NO BONUS
 

Summary

The Director of Manufacturing directs and oversees the entire production operations within the company facility. This role is responsible for managing workflows, supervising the labor force, developing manufacturing plans and production schedules, enforcing safety procedures, and driving efficient performance to meet production goals and deadlines. The Director will manage a team including plant supervisors, master schedulers, and team leaders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations on the shop floor.

  • Collaborate with supervisors, team leaders, and master schedulers to implement strategies that optimize productivity and reduce material/overhead costs.

  • Resolve production issues, allocate labor, schedule workflows, and enforce safety protocols.

  • Ensure machinery, tools, and equipment are properly maintained.

  • Guarantee product quality meets U/L specifications and customer requirements.

  • Review job costing reports, approve change orders, and monitor work center capacity.

  • Lead production and safety meetings, and review weekly reports and performance metrics.

  • Participate in new design development, prototyping, and sustainment of LEAN manufacturing principles.

  • Monitor work orders to ensure timely execution and adherence to allocated budgets.

  • Hire, train, and supervise staff; manage shift assignments and work schedules.

  • Provide cross-functional support to departments such as Project Management, Accounting, Estimating, Engineering, Outsourcing, Shipping, Inventory, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing.

  • Coordinate with external vendors to ensure successful execution and delivery of products.

  • Attend and contribute to strategic and management meetings.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tools, and maintenance requirements.

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve operational issues strategically.

  • Proficient in reporting tools, Excel, and ERP software.

  • Demonstrated success in high-demand environments with tight lead times.

  • Resilient, self-motivated, and able to thrive under pressure.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot across various work centers.

  • A collaborative team player who works well with cross-functional teams.
